OD supervision

The purpose of supervision is to maintain and develop professional quality through the medium of a confidential professional learning relationship. You can engage with a supervisor individually or in groups/work teams, and:

  • reflect on how you are working and how you can increase competency and effectiveness. This is both specific in terms of role, delivery and objectives, and general in terms of continuing professional development, work/life balance and accountability
  • get support and help in doing work which is often complex, potentially isolating and challenging
  • identify viable and practical solutions through creative exploration and discovery
  • explore how to attend to best professional standards and to resolve problems

This happens in the context of an established collaborative learning partnership between supervisor and supervisee(s). Support and challenge are equally important in getting the best for supervisee, and their work, and for getting to the heart of sound, satisfying and effective performance.
