I am a UKCP-registered supervisor and gestalt psychotherapist, and a GPTI-accredited supervisor and trainer. I have been involved in gestalt for around 20 years. I offer supervision, psychotherapy, training workshops and consultancy from my private practice based in Edinburgh.

I was a core member of the EGI training and management team for around ten years, until leaving these roles in 2017 to pursue other professional interests including writing. I am now a guest trainer at EGI.

I welcome supervisees from a diverse range of professional and personal backgrounds, from a range of modalities, and with a range of supervisory needs. I enjoy working with new therapists/counsellors, and supporting therapists/counsellors with the stimulating and challenging process of professional development and accreditation. I also enjoy working with experienced practitioners who may be interested in deepening their work and may be facing the challenges of support, self-care and ongoing development which can arise after working in the field for some time.

My particular supervisory interests are around the deepening of embodied relational ethical creative practice; a careful focus on presence, empathic inclusion and self-care, and the integration of theory with practice. I am also currently interested in how we support joy in psychotherapy.

Relational, embodied, creative living is at the heart of my personal and professional life….this is a continuation of my long-running exploration of how each of us can live out our deepest creative potential. If you come for supervision with me, I will work and relate creatively with you according to what you bring and what emerges between us in the here-and-now. I believe that how we relate is central to effective supervision and therapy.

Many strands shape my personal style as a supervisor. I trained at EGI, and continue to add to this training in national and international contexts. I have a background as a practitioner and manager in the addictions and mental health fields in the voluntary and statutory sectors. I have a strong interest in attachment and trauma, developed through personal and professional experience. Other interests weave into my work: literature, philosophy, poetry, language, dance, playing my flute, connecting closely with nature/spirit. I am currently deepening my understanding of interpersonal neurobiology, and focusing on increasing acceptance and compassion.

I am committed to reflective, ethical practice and to my own personal and professional development. I am in regular clinical supervision for my all my work.

If you would like to explore the possibility of working with me, please get in touch so that we can explore what you are looking for, consider whether we might be a good match, and discuss the practicalities of an initial meeting/contract if appropriate. My price per session is £65.
