Gestalt psychotherapy training 2017-21: route to GPTI Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy and UKCP registration.

This is a four-year part-time course with theoretical and experiential components, which prepares you for qualification and accreditation as a gestalt psychotherapist. Each year comprises seven or eight weekends training, plus a residential.

Existentialism: dilemmas and delights with Graham Colbourne

Graham will facilitate an extended philosophical and practical exploration of the human condition and the implications of existentialism for therapeutic practice. He will include an overview of european existential thinking, and will draw on pertinent aspects of the mystical traditions within Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism and Islam.

A dialogue with diagnosis: a field-theoretical approach to emotional understanding with Laurence Hegan

February 11th, 2017

In this experiential and practical workshop, participants will be given opportunities to focus on meaning-making in more complex ways than merely as a ‘knowing clinician’ labelling phenomena into diagnostic categories. Rather, emphasis will be placed on focussing on the aesthetics of each relational situation to find a deeper emotional understanding guided loosely by our diagnostic knowledge.

Advanced therapy group with Graham Colbourne

This exciting, new, ongoing advanced gestalt therapy group (up to 12 people) will meet four times a year for three days, and will benefit people with substantial experience of personal therapy in any modality. Accreditation preparation

This group provides intensive ongoing support to gestalt practitioners at all stages of the journey towards professional accreditation, e.g. with UKCP (GPTI/AHPP), BACP, GATLA or COSCA. It is a small group with two facilitators.

Grace unfolding: supporting our capacity to flow with life’s unfolding

Emotional resistance is our capacity to adapt to adversity and disturbances, and be able to let go of old structures of thinking and behaving that may have given us a sense of stability and coherence.
